110m Geothermal Borehole

5Kw Ground Source Heat Pump

Problem

Insufficient ground area in the nursing home grounds for Ground Source Heat Pump loop piping to be laid.

Solution

Daly investigated the viability of a drilling a geothermal borehole to allow the installation of a Ground Source Heat Pump to provide heating to the underfloor heating in the extension area.

Full Story

Following a full client brief, a Daly engineer conducted an in-depth survey to determine the viability of heating the nursing home’s extension with a Ground Source Heat Pump.

The engineer advised that due to insufficient ground area for laying pipe in trenches, the best solution was to drill a 110m geothermal borehole.

The borehole was completed with thermally enhanced grout and Daly supplied, installed and commissioned a 5Kw GSHP, to heat the Under Floor Heating in the main living area of the nursing home.
