To design a Renewable Energy System that provided both heating and cooling functions in this innovative new healthcare facility in Northern Ireland
Daly specified a Reverse Cycle Heat Pump and Underfloor Heating.
Portadown Community Treatment and Care Centre (CTCC) is the first facility of its kind to open in Northern Ireland housing both primary and community care services.
As an innovative new facility for Northern Ireland, the trust responsible for building the new centre were keen to employ low energy, cost efficient solutions.
After a detailed brief and due surveying of the plans, Daly specified the installation of a Reverse Cycle Heat Pump and Underfloor Heating.
Due to lack of available space for ground loops laid in trenches, heating and cooling were provided by the drilling of 3 x 150m boreholes that fed into the underfloor heating in the CTCC‘s atrium.
Daly designed the system, tailored to the specific needs of the CTCC. As with all it’s projects, Daly project managed the process.
